This study focuses on the village of Karayavşan in Ankara, examining its foundation and social structure within a historical context. Established by Crimean Turks who migrated to Ottoman lands, Karayavşan embodies the traditions and characteristics of these migrants, having been founded by groups arriving both directly from Crimea and indirectly via the Balkans. The analysis considers settlement policies of the state, residential patterns, internal social structures, economic life, and traditional practices that define the village. Additionally, educational activities and spatial organization are evaluated to illustrate Karayavşan’s distinguishing features as a rural settlement.
