Developments in the field of toxicology in Turkey have become much more advanced with the privatization of the pharmaceutical toxicology field and have significantly affected the position of toxicology science in Turkey. This article investigates the activities carried out specifically for pharmaceutical toxicology and the regulations in academic fields between 1965 and 1983 and examines the research and developments along with the connection of pharmaceutical toxicology with other science fields. It aims to convey the development process of pharmaceutical toxicology in Turkey by touching on the reasons why it became a separate department from the faculty of pharmacy due to the regulations made in universities, the opening of department chairs, and the consequences of this development.
