dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractGeçmişten günümüze engelli vatandaşların eğitimi ve Türk toplumundaki yeri daima bir eksiklik olarak kalmıştır. Bunun sebebi, halkın bilinçsizliği ve bu nedenle yeterli önlemlerin alınmamasıdır. Türkiye’nin ilk uzay mühendisi Turgay Karakaş ise beyin felçli (selebral palsi) doğmasına rağmen, bu engeli aşıp alanında önemli yerlere gelmiştir. Sonuç olarak, gayreti ve azmiyle birçok engelli vatandaşa ve Türk toplumuna örnek olmuştur.
dc.description.abstractThe education of disabled citizens from past to present and their place in Turkish society has always been a deficiency. The reason for this is the unconsciousness of the people and the lack of adequate measures. Turkey's first aerospace engineer Turgay Karakaş though born paralyzed brain, has come to overcome this obstacle and he became to important places in his area. As a result, it has become an example for many citizens with disabilities and Turkish society.
