dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractAli Rıza Erdoğan 1942 yılında Ankara'da doğmuştur. İlköğrenimini Yeni Hayat İlkokulu ve Cebeci Ortaokulunda, lise eğitimini ise Ankara Gazi Lisesi'nde tamamlamıştır. Yüksek eğitimini İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi Elektrik Elektronik Mühendisliği bölümünde bitirmiştir. Ali Rıza Erdoğan, Baş mühendis olarak girdiği TRT Çukurova Radyosu'nda zaman içinde bölge müdürlüğüne kadar yükselmiş, radyoya büyük katkılarda bulunmuştur. Burada çalıştığı yıllar içinde radyoda büyük gelişmeler yaşanmış ve radyo her geçen gün büyümeye devam etmiştir. Buradaki mesleğinden 1984 yılında ayrılmış, daha sonra aynı bölgede telsiz ticareti ve müteahhitlik işi ile uğraşmaya başlamıştır. 2004 yılında emekliliğe ayrılan Ali Rıza Erdoğan halen Mersin'deki evinde yaşamına devam etmektedir.
dc.description.abstractAli Rıza Erdoğan was born in 1942 in Ankara. He has studied his primary education on Yeni Hayat Primary School and Cebeci Secondary School. He has graduated from Gazi High School in Ankara. Then he went on to study in İstanbul Technical University Electrical Electronics department. Ali Rıza Erdoğan has started his career on TRT Çukurova as the chief engineer, but through the years he has become the regional manager of the company. Throughout his career in the company, he has contributed plenty to TRT Çukurova. During these years the radio has seen many different developments and the company has always been improved. Ali Rıza Erdoğan has left his company in 1984 and then he started his own businesses. He has worked in two-way radio trading and then worked as a real-estate developer. Ali Rıza Erdoğan is still living in Mersin after he has retired in 2004.
