Ottoman Strawberry is a unique fruit that has become one of the symbols of Ereğli with its distinctive aroma, fragrance, and flavor. Since its introduction to Ottoman lands, it has played a significant role in the region’s agricultural structure and has gradually become an integral part of its cultural and economic identity. However, industrialization, agricultural production processes, and global market dynamics pose a threat to the sustainability of Ottoman Strawberry. This article explores the historical development of Ottoman Strawberry, its cultivation in the region, its gastronomic identity, the festival process, and its economic impacts while examining efforts to preserve this cultural heritage.
