dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractMacit Gökberk 1969-1976 yılları arasında, felsefe bölümünde akademisyenliğine devam ederken Türk Dil Kurumunda (TDK) ikinci kez kurultay heyeti başkanlığı yapmıştır. Harf devriminden itibaren Türk Dil Kurumunun Türk diline kazandırdıkları ve Macit Gökberk'in hayatı, çalışmaları ve Türk Dil Kurumu başkanlığı yaptığı dönemde bu kesişimden doğan, sözlükler başta olmak üzere, birçok çalışma vardır. Macit Gökberk'in dil felsefesi üzerine çalışmalar yapması sonucunda bu sürecin önceki dönemlere kıyasla daha verimli ve başarılı olduğu dikkat çekmektedir.
dc.description.abstractMacit Gökberk served his second presidency period in Turkish Language Association (TDK) during 1969-1976. Macit Gökberk's life and works made an impact on Turkish Language Association history, starting from Turkish Alphabet Reform to establishment of Turkish Language Association. The intersection of Macit Gökberk and Turkish Language Association during his presidency in 1969-1976, there are many activities produces, most important improvement being in the dictionary field considering new assembly's working process and studies done on linguistics and philosophy.
