| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | Bolu’da öğretmen olarak iş hayatına başlayan Faruk Öztürk hem birçok farklı öğretim kurumunda eğitmenlik ve idari görev yürütmüş hem de fotoğrafçılık ve radyoculuk ile uğraşmıştır. Emekliliğinden sonra ise günümüzde de unutulmaya yüz tutmuş olan ahşap oyma sanatında ustalık yapan bir isimdir. Bu makalede başarılı bir kariyere sahip olan Faruk Öztürk’ün biyografisi ve meslek hayatında yaşadıkları detaylı şekilde anlatılmıştır. Bunun yanında da hâlâ devam ettiği ahşap oyma sanatı hakkında tarihsel ve teknik bilgiler kendisine sorulmuş ve alınan cevaplar ışığında bu sanatın geçmişten günümüze durumu ve gelecekte ne durumda olabileceği gibi konular çok boyutlu şekilde ve muhtelif yönlerden incelenmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Faruk Öztürk, who started his career as a teacher in Bolu, worked as an instructor and administrative officer in many different educational institutions, as well as photography and radio broadcasting. After his retirement, he became a master in the art of wood carving, which is almost forgotten today. In this article, the biography of Faruk Öztürk, who has a successful career, and his experiences in his professional life are explained in detail. In addition, historical and technical information about the art of carving, which he still continues, was asked to him, and in the light of the answers received, issues such as the situation of this art from past to present and what its situation might be in the future were examined multidimensionally and from various aspects. | |
