dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu araştırmada 1919-2009 yılları arasında yaşamış Türkiye'nin ilk kadın mimarlarından biri olan Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger'in hayatı ve başta Köy Enstitüleri olmak üzere mimarlık alanındaki çalışmaları üzerinde durulmuştur. Araştırma kapsamında öncelikle Mualla Eyüboğlu'nun ailesi, çocukluk hayatı ve Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi'nde (DGSA) aldığı mimarlık eğitimini takip eden aktif mesleki hayatı ve son yılları ele alınmıştır. Ayrıca, Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger'in özellikle Köy Enstitüleri bağlamında cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarındaki süreçte Anadolu'ya kattıkları ve yer aldığı pek çok restorasyon çalışması ile mimarlık kariyeri de incelenmiştir. Başta Mualla Eyüboğlu'nun verdiği bir röportajı içeren kitap ve yeğeni Prof. Selim Eyüboğlu ile yapılan röportaj olmak üzere birçok kaynak kullanılarak Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger'in çok boyutlu kişiliğini ve mimarlık alanındaki katkılarını okuyucuya aktarmak amaçlanmıştır.
dc.description.abstractThis article examines the life and work of one of Turkey's first women architect: Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger. Within the scope of the research, initially, Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger's family, her childhood, and her architectural education in the State Academy of Fine Arts have been analyzed along with her active and recent years. In the continuation of the research, the contributions of Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger to Anatolia, especially in the context of village institutes, have been investigated along with many restoration works that she took part in. With the utilization of numerous sources, especially the book containing an interview with Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger and an interview conducted with her niece Prof. Dr. Selim Eyüboğlu. It was aimed to convey the multidimensional personality of Mualla Eyüboğlu Anhegger and her efforts in the field of architecture.
