Abstract

Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşundan beri Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurucusu olan Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu yaratıcı ve modernist bir ülkeye dönüştürmeye çalıştı. Mimari alanda dönemin yetenekli mimarlarından 1930 ve 40’ların en yetenekli mimarlarından Seyfi Arkan, Mustafa Kemal’in modernist projelerine katkıda bulundu. Bu araştırmanın amacı Seyfi Arkan’ın bütün hayatını kariyerindeki yükselişinin ve çöküşünün detaylarıyla birlikte incelmektir.


Since the foundation of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk who is the founder of the Turkish Republic desired to turn the Ottoman Empire into innovative and modernist country. In terms of architecture, Seyfi Arkan was one of the most skilled Turkish architects of 1930s and 1940s who contributed to purpose of Mustafa Kemal with his modernist projects. This research aims to investigate the entire life of Seyfi Arkan in details of how he ascended and descended throughout his career.
