dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractMüzik, insanlık için tarihin en eski zamanlarından beri hayatın bir parçası olmuştur. Müzik tarih boyunca tıpta, dini ritüellerde, savaşlarda ve daha birçok alanda kullanılmıştır. Müziğin bu kadar geniş bir kavram olması onun Rock müzik, Pop müzik gibi çeşitli alt başlıklara ayrılmasına neden olmuştur. Bu araştırmada müziğin bir dalı olan Rock müziğin Türkiye’deki yansıması sayılabilecek Anadolu Rock, Kurtalan Ekspres grubu üzerinden ele alınarak bahsedilmiştir. Barış Manço’nun kuruculuğunu üstlendiği Kurtalan Ekspres grubu Türk Rock müzik tarihinde büyük bir önem taşımış, yıllar boyunca genç sanatçılara örnek teşkil etmeye devam etmiştir.
dc.description.abstractMusic has become an important part of human life throughout the history of humankind. It has been used in many different areas, such as medicine, religious rituels, or wars. The fact that music is such a wide term, it is subcategorized as Pop music or Rock music. This article will eleborate on the reflection of Rock music in Turkey, named as Anadolu Rock and one of the Anadolu Rock bands, Kurtalan Ekspres. Kurtalan Ekspres, whose head is Barış Manço, has been an important band in Turkish music history, and impressed young artists for years.
