dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBozcaada halkının geleneksel geçim kaynakları bağcılık ve şarapçılık iken yakın tarihte turizmin de adaya gelmesi ile adalıların hem gelir kaynakları hem de yaşam şartları değişime uğramıştır. Adadaki bu değişimi inceleyip analiz edebilmek amacıyla haberler ve makaleler incelenmiştir. Ek olarak, Bozcaada'nın yerel halkı ile röportajlar yapılarak araştırmaya derinlik kazandırılması amaçlanmıştır. Turizmin etkilerini daha iyi inceleyebilmek adına internet haber siteleri de kullanılmıştır. Özetle, Bozcaada'nın şarapçılık ve bağcılık ile bağlantısı, turizmin adaya gelmesi ve bütün bu etmenler ile yaşanan değişiklikler incelenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractWhile the main source of income for the people in Bozcaada has been viniculture and wine-making, the introduction of tourism with time has disturbed and changed the lifestyles of the local people. In anattemptatoin spectandan alyze this change, article sand written papers have been examined. Additionally, interviews have been conducted with the local people of the island to have the research gain a level of depthness. To be able to better dissect the impactoftourism on the island, up-to-date and newly made websites have also been used. Insummary, therelation between viniculture andwine-makingof Bozcaada and the impact of the arrival of tourism on the island have been inspected.
