dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makalede Manisa’nın Kula ilçesinin tarihi, geleneksel Kula Evleri özelinde mimarisi, şehir insanının uğraş alanları, kültürü, Kula’nın coğrafi özellikleri ve Kula’yı özgün bir şehir haline getiren bu özelliklerin turizme etkisi ile turizm faaliyetlerinin geliştirilmesi ve çeşitlendirilmesi çalışmaları incelenmiştir. Makalenin teması Kula’nın tarihi ve bu tarihin günümüze etkisidir. Makalede mimari yapı ve turizm çalışmalarının incelenmesine önem verilmiş olup birincil kaynak olarak röportajlar kullanılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this article, the history of the Kula district of Manisa, the architecture of the traditional Kula houses, the occupational areas and culture of the city, the geographical features of the Kula and the effects of these characteristics on tourism and the development and diversification of tourism activities have been examined. The theme of the article is the history of Kula and the effect of this history to the present. In the article, importance was given to the study of architectural structure and tourism studies and interviews were used as primary sources.en_US
