After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, between 1989 and 1992, Bosnia and Herzegovina has declared it’s independence. In response, the Serbian army attacked Bosnia and started a war which lasted for three years between 1992 and 1995. During this war the atrocities committed by the Serbian army toward the Bosnian civilians had reached to a massive extent. In consequence, many volunteers from around the globe, including Turks, reached Bosnia in order to offer aid to the Bosnian people in their effort for survival. This article focuses on the Turkish volunteers and their influence in Bosnia. The policy of the Turkish Government during the war is also examined within this context.en_US
