dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada Ankara'da 1958 yılından itibaren hizmet vermekte olan Bolu Akın Lokantası'nın kurulma süreci, günümüzdeki durumu ve süreç içerisinde geçirdiği değişimler anlatılmıştır. Ankara Etlik Garajında kurulmuş olan Bolu Akın Lokantası'nın esnaf lokantası kültürünü başarıyla günümüze ulaştırabilmiş olması çalışmanın odak noktasıdır. Bu yazıda, Türk yemek kültürünün geçirdiği değişimler ve esnaf lokantaların bu değişim içindeki durumu incelenmiştir. Araştırmamızda Bolu Akın Lokantası'nın kurucusu olan Hacı Hüseyin Durak'ın torunu ve aynı zamanda çocukluğundan itibaren lokantada aktif çalışan Hüseyin Durak'ın tecrübelerinden yararlanılmıştır.
dc.description.abstractIn this article, a traditional Turkish restaurant Bolu Akın Lokantası will be introduced. Bolu Akın Lokantası was established by Hacı Hüseyin Durak in Ankara ex-bus terminal and it has been on service since 1958. In this paper, changes in the Turkish Cuisine, traditional Turkish restaurants and historical background of Bolu Akın Lokantası and their success in this area will be investigated. Bolu Akın Lokantası is an important representative of traditional Turkis cuisine and Turkish artisan culture. Therefore, in this paper Hacı Hüseyin Durak's grandson Hüseyin Durak's, who has been working in this restaurant since he was a child, experiences are used.
