Klazomenai, İzmir'in Urla ilçesinde bulunan antik bir İyon Yunan şehridir.
Klazomenai is an ancient Ionian Greek city in the Urla district of Izmir. This ancient city, which stands out with its rich history and archaeological excavations, includes villas, open air sanctuaries, necropolis and other ruins from the Roman and Hellenistic periods. The excavations, first started during the First World War, were carried out by Greek archaeologists, but were suspended due to the war. Excavations resumed in the 1970s and continued under the direction of the Izmir Museum and Güven Bakır. These excavations yielded important finds such as Klazomenai's olive oil production, ceramic production techniques and sarcophagi. The excavations have contributed greatly to our understanding of the daily life, economic activities and cultural characteristics of the ancient city. Archaeological excavations at Klazomenai are an important area of research and exploration that helps us understand Ionian culture.
