dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBasketbol 1891 yılında din adamı olmak isteyen James Naismith tarafından bulunmuştur. İlk olarak Avrupa’da oynanmaya başlanmıştır ve sonrasın da Amerika’da yaygın oynanan spor haline gelmiştir. Türkiye’de ilk kez 1904 senesinde Amerikan Robert Koleji’nin spor salonunda oynanmıştır. Türkiye’de Basketbolun tanınmasından sonra hemen kulüpler açılmaya başlandı. Beylerbeyi Spor Kulübü 1911 senesinde açılmıştır. İlk olarak futbol ve kürek alanlarında, sonrasında ise basketbol ve boks gibi diğer branşlarla uğraşmıştır. Bu araştırmada, Beylerbeyi Basketbol Şubesi 1996 yılında Prof. Dr. Mustafa Çetiner tarafından açıldığı, kulübün kurulma sebepleri altında teknik takıma ve oyuncularına yabancı hissetmeyecekleri ve profesyonel antrenman kalıplarıyla oyuncularını geliştirmek ve ileri taşımak olduğu üzerinde durulmuştur. Beylerbeyi Spor Kulübü’nün altyapıya çok önem vermesi ve kurulduğu günden beri artan başarılar sağlamasının nedeninin genç nesle verdiği önem olduğu vurgulanmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractBasketball was found in 1891 by James Nasimith who wanted to be a religious man. Basketball was first played in Europe, and it became played a sports game in America. In 1904, Basketball was first played in Turkey by Robert College. After Basketball became familiar in Turkey, the sports clubs were opened immediately. Beylerbeyi Spor Kulübü was established in 1911; their first branches were football and rowing, then they started to work on Basketball and box. In this research, it is mentioned that Prof. Dr Mustafa Çetiner established the Beylerbeyi Basketball in 1996. This club's foundation aimed to provide a familiar environment to its technical team and athletes and improve the player features by using professional techniques. Beylerbeyi Spor Kulübü attached importance to infrastructure and how getting successes was connected to its junior generation.en_US
