dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makalede, Ziraat Bankası Resim Koleksiyonu’nun oluşum aşamaları, koleksiyonda bulunan eserler, eserlerin toplanma süreci ve eserlerin ait olduğu akımlar incelenmiştir. Aynı zamanda koleksiyonun oluşturulmaya başlandığı dönemde Türkiye’de sanat alanında yapılan yeniliklerden ve gelişmelerden bahsedilmiştir. Makale sürecinde, Ziraat Bankası Resim Koleksiyonu’nun içerdiği eserler, eserlerin ait olduğu dönemin eserlere yansıması ve Türkiye’de sanat piyasasının gelişimine etkileri incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme yapılırken, öncelikle yazılı kaynaklardan yararlanılarak koleksiyon öncesi dönem ve koleksiyonun oluşum dönemi anlatılmıştır. Sonrasında ise Ziraat Bankası sanat danışmanı ve sanat tarihi profesörü Kıymet GİRAY ile röportaj yapılarak koleksiyonla ilgili ayrıntılı bilgi elde edinilmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this article, the formation stages of the Ziraat Bank Painting Collection, the works in the collection, the creation of the collection, and the movements to which the works belong have been examined. Also, the innovations and developments made in the field of art in Turkey at the beginning of the formation of the collection have been mentioned. In the process of writing the article, the works included in Ziraat Bank Painting Collection, the reflection of the period to which the works belong and the effects on the development of the art market in Turkey has been examined. During the examination, the pre-collection period and the formation period of the collection were described primarily by using written sources. And afterwards, detailed information about the collection was obtained by interviewing Kıymet GİRAY, art history professor and the art consultant in Ziraat Bank.en_US
