Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nde eğitim: Türkiye ile yapılan eğitim-kültür anlaşmaları

Abstract

Çeşitli ülkelerin yönetimi altında bulunan Kıbrıs, eğitimi, kültürü, sosyal ve toplumsal yapısı gibi bir çok açıdan yönetimindeki ülkelerin etkisi altında kaldı. Bu açıdan Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı sonrasında önemi artan kültür-eğitim göçleri ile, Türkiyeli öğretmen ve öğrencileri bölgedeki okullara yönlendirerek eğitim standartlarının Türkiye’ye yaklaştırılması hedeflendi. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, eğitim ve ulusal kimlik arasındaki ilişkiye tarihsel perspektifle bakarak eğitimin toplumsal ve politik yapılanmalar üzerindeki rolüne ışık tutmaktır. 1988-1992 yıllarında programda Kıbrıslı ve Türkiyeli öğretmen ve öğrenci konumlarında yer alan kişiler ile yapılan röportajlar ve akademik literatürden faydalanılarak hazırlanan bu çalışma, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti’nin (KKTC) toplumsal yapısına farklı perspektifler sunmaktadır.

Cyprus's education, culture, and social structures have been influenced under the rule of many countries. Increase in culture-education migrations following the Cyprus Peace Operation aimed to raise the standard of education to Turkey's standards by bringing teachers and students from Turkey to Cyprus. Adopting a historical perspective on education and national identity, this paper aims to illustrate the role of education on social and political systems. This project compiles interviews conducted with teachers and students from Cyprus and Turkey who were involved in the program between 1988-1992, and academic literature, offering multiple perspectives on Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus’s (TRNC) social structure.
