dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu araştırma projesinde, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin ilk kadın Danıştay Başkanı olan Füruzan İkincioğulları'nın yorumları ışığında, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin 1994-1998 yılları arasındaki siyasi ve hukuki olaylarının değerlendirilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu olaylardan 28 şubat Darbe Girişimi üzerinde özellikle durulmuştur. Füruzan İkincioğulları, 1933 yılında doğmuş, zorlu bir eğitim hayatından sonra tetkik hakimi olarak görevine başladığı Danıştay'a 1994'de başkan olup, bu görevi 1998 yılına kadar sürdürmüştür. Bu proje, Füruzan İkincioğulları'nın hayatının ve görüşlerinin tam anlamıyla anlaşılabilmesi ve incelenebilmesi amacıyla; Füruzan İkincioğulları'nın eğitim hayatını, kariyerini, Danıştay macerasını, başkanlık sürecini, bir kadın olarak karşılaştığı zorlukları/kolaylıkları ve kendisinin hukuk ile ilgili görüşlerini ana başlıklar olarak barındırmaktadır. Projenin temel kaynağı olarak Füruzan İkincioğulları ile yapılan röportaj kullanılmıştır. Bunun yanında, Ankara Barosu ve Gazi üniversitsesi gibi çeşitli kurumların dergileri ve dönemin hukuki ve siyasi olaylarına ilişkin kitaplardan da yararlanılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this research project, the aim was to evaluate the political and judicial events of the Turkish Republic in light of the commentary of the first female President of the Council of State. Among these events, the 1997 Turkish Military Memorandum in particular has been emphasized on. Füruzan İkincioğulları was born in 1933 and she started her career as an investigation judge after an education period with several hardships in the Council of State where she became the president in 1994 and continued at this position until her retirement in 1998. This project, covers the school life, career, journey as a member and as a president of the Council of State, conveniences and inconveniences of being a woman and commentary on law of Furuzan İkincioğulları as main topics; in order to fully understand and analyze her life and vision. The main reference of the project is an interview done with Füruzan İkincioğulları. In addition, journals of various institutions such as the Ankara Law Society and Gazi University and books that are relevant to the political and judicial events of the period have been used as reference.en_US
