dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstract1990 yılında artistik patene başlayan, Türkiye’de sporunu ilerletemediğinden dolayı 1996 yılında ailesi ile beraber Kanada’nın Ontario eyaletinde bulunan Barrie şehrine taşınan Türk sporcu Tuğba Karademir 2005 ve 2010 yıllarında Türkiye’yi olimpiyatlarda temsil etti. Avrupa’da, Kanada’da ve birçok farklı ülkede yarışmalarda kendini gösterdi ve 2010 da yaşadığı bazı sıkıntılardan dolayı buz patenini profesyonel olarak yapmayı bıraktı. Sonrasında hayatına Kanada’da üniversite eğitimi alarak ve avukat olarak devam etti. Bu sırada Türkiye’ye katkı sağlamaya devam etti ve bağlarını koparmadı. Günümüzde hala Kanada’da bir avukat ve diğer zamanlarında antrenör olarak çalışmaya devam ediyor.en_US
dc.description.abstractTuğba Karademir began figure skating in 1990 in Turkey. Moving forward she and her family realized that she could not improve her skills further in Turkey due to the lack of training and experienced trainers. In 1996, they moved to Canada, Ontario to a small city called Barrie in order for Tuğba to become a better skater. Tuğba Karademir represented Turkey in the 2005 and 2010 Olympic Games. She also showed herself many times in competitions in Europe, Canada and many other countries, and she stopped doing ice skating professionally in 2010 due to some troubles she had experienced. Later, she continued her life in Canada, studying at university and later working as a lawyer. Meanwhile, she continued to contribute to Turkey and maintain her ties. Today she still continues to work as a lawyer in Canada and also as a trainer.en_US
