Şarap şişesinden otele: Ankara Sheraton Otel’in tarihi

Abstract

Proje konusu olarak 1991 yılından bu yana Ankara’nın siluetinin ve hayatının önemli bir parçası olan Ankara Sheraton Otel seçilmiştir. Giriş kısmında, Ankara’da Sheraton Otel öncesi ve sonrası otelcilik sektörüne değinilmiş aynı zamanda da otelin inşaatı ile bölgede gerçekleşen gelişmeler anlatılmıştır. Ardından Sheraton Otel’in mimarisi ve kendisiyle birlikte bir bütün oluşturan Karum alışveriş ve ticaret merkezinden de bahsedilmiştir. Sonrasında tarihi boyunca ev sahipliği yaptığı önemli etkinlikler, toplantılar ve konuklar incelenmiştir. Projemizde Otelin hem tarihi hem sosyal hem de politik yanları göz önünde bulundurularak geniş kapsamlı bir araştırma yapılmıştır. Ankara Sheraton Hotel, which has been an important part of Ankara's silhouette and life since 1991, was chosen as the subject of the project. In the introduction part, the hotel industry before and after the Sheraton Hotel in Ankara is mentioned, and at the same time, the developments in the region with the construction of the hotel are explained. Then, the architecture of the Sheraton Hotel and the Karum shopping and commercial center, which forms a whole with itself, were also mentioned. Afterwards, the important events, meetings, and guests it hosted throughout its history were examined. In our project, comprehensive research was carried out considering both the historical, social, and political aspects of the hotel.
