In this article, the historical process of Iğdır, which is located in the east of Turkey, from the Ottoman-Russian war to the annexation of the Iğdır National Government to the homeland has been examined. After the Ottoman Empire lost the First World War, there was an authority vacuum in and around Iğdır, and the Armenians took advantage of this authority vacuum and perpetrated atrocities against the Turks, and the Turks living in the region established local governments to protect themselves from the attacks of the Armenians. One of the many local governments established in the Caucasus is the Iğdır National Government which is the first recognized Turkish republic, where Ali Ekber Tufan served as the vice president and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.en_US
