dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu araştırmada, besteci Ahmed Adnan Saygun’nun doğu ve batı kültürlerini nasıl bir araya getirmeye çalıştığı, hayatının önemli noktaları baz alınarak incelenmiştir. Kendisinin araştırmaları, Atatürk ile olan anıları ve yazdığı çeşitli eserlerin arka planları incelenerek, bu eserlerinde iki farklı kültürü nasıl işlediğinin önemi ön plana çıkarılmak istenmiştir. Yazılı, sözlü ve görsel kaynaklardan yararlanılarak araştırma tamamlanmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis paper examines composer Ahmet Adnan Saygun’s life, to understand how he connected east and west cultures with each other, by referring the important points of his life. His research, the background of memories and works with Atatürk are investigated to put forward the question of how those works processed the two different cultures. Written, oral and visual sources are used then the research is completed.en_US
