Hacettepe antropoloji bölümü’nün tarihi ve gelişimi

Abstract

Bu çalışma antropoloji biliminin ne olduğunu, nasıl ortaya çıktığını, Hacettepe Üniversitesi Antropoloji Bölümünün kuruluşundan başlayarak bugüne kadarki tarihsel gelişim sürecini, inceleyen bir çalışmadır. Başlangıçta antropoloji biliminin Batı Avrupa’da 18. ve 19. yüzyıllarda, Osmanlı’da ortaya çıkışı ve Türkiye’de ortaya çıkışı ve gelişim süreci incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızın ikinci bölümünde ise Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nin kuruluşu tarihsel açıdan açıklanmış ve aynı zamanda Hacettepe Üniversitesi Antropoloji Bölümünün kuruluş süreci açıklanmıştır. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Antropoloji Bölümü, 1971 yılında Bozkurt Güvenç’in liderliğinde kurulmuş, ilk yıllarında daha çok kültürel antropoloji üzerinde yoğunlaşmış, fakat 1990’lı yıllardan itibaren biyolojik antropolojiye yönelmiştir. Hacettepe Üniversitesi Antropoloji Bölümü, günümüzde üç büyük laboratuvarı, yetkin akademik kadrosu ve diğer disiplinlerle olan güçlü bağlantıları ile Türkiye’de öncü antropolojik çalışmalar yapmaktadır.

This study is a study that evaluates what the science of anthropology is, how it was first established and how the Anthropology Department of Hacettepe University has developed over time. Firstly, the emergence of anthropology in Western Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries, in the Ottoman Empire, and in Turkey, and its development is observed. In the second section of the study the development of Hacettepe University is described from a historical perspective and the process of the establishment of the Anthropology Department of Hacettepe University is assessed. The Department of Anthropology in Hacettepe University was founded in 1971 with the oversight of Bozkurt Güvenç. In its initial years the department was more focused on cultural anthropology however in the 1990s its focused shifted to biological anthropology. Hacettepe University Anthropology Department currently carries out pioneering anthropological studies in Turkey with its three major laboratories, competent academic staff, and strong connections with other disciplines.
