dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | en_US |

dc.description.abstract | Türk kültürünün önemli bir zanaatı olmasına rağmen kaybolmaya yüz tutan körüklü çizme araştırıldı. Bu araştırmanın motivasyonu kaybolmak üzere olan zanaatları canlandırmayı ve topluma yeniden kazandırmayı hedefleyen Bir Usta Bin Usta Programı oldu. Geleneksel kıyafetlerin kültürlerdeki yeri ve önemine değinildi. Bu kıyafetlerden biri olarak kabul edilen körüklü çizmenin Anadolu’ya nasıl geldiği açıklandı. Körüklü çizmenin Türkiye’de üretildiği bölgeler ve üretilmesine etki eden faktörler araştırıldı. Yapım aşamaları ve yapımında kullanılan malzemeler de detaylı bir şekilde incelendi. Körüklü çizmenin Türk kültüründeki yeri, kullanım alanları incelendi. Ayrıca kültürün varlığına ve devamlılığına olan katkıları da araştırıldı. Bunlar yapılırken geçmişteki ve günümüzdeki kulanım alanları da ayrı ayrı ele alındı. dc.description.abstract | In this study, the accordion boot, which is about to disappear despite being an important craft of Turkish culture, has been investigated. The motivation of this research was the Bir Usta Bin Usta Program, which aims to revive the crafts that are about to disappear and regain them to the society. The place and importance of traditional clothes in cultures was mentioned. It was explained how the accordion boot, which is accepted as one of these clothes, came to Anatolia. The regions located in turkey in which accordion boots are produced are investigated as well as the factors influencing the production of accordion boots. The construction stages and the materials used in its construction were also examined in detail. The place and usage areas of accordion boots in Turkish culture were examined. In addition, their contribution to the existence and continuity of culture was also explored. While doing these, the areas of use in the past and present were also considered separately. | en_US |
