Sivrice, Elazığ’ın on ilçesinden biridir.
Sivrice is one of the ten districts of Elazığ. Sivrice is not a very old district. Its foundations date back to the Republican Period. Geographical structures such as Hazar Lake and Hazar Baba Mountain in the district direct both the cultural and economic structure of the region. Since many different ethnic groups have lived together in the region from past to present, the cultural and economic life in the district affects more than one ethnic group. Therefore, this research focused on the whole of Sivrice district rather than its specific features. In addition to the history, geographical features and demographic structure of the region, the importance of the region in terms of culture, tradition and tourism was examined and the connections between these features were reflected.
