dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractGelik Lokantası İstanbul’un köklü ve saygın bir lokantasıdır. 1972’den beri varlığını sürdürmektedir. Ünlü bir iş adamı olan Ömer Duruk ve aşçılık mesleğinde çalışan İbrahim Denizer ortaklığında kurulan lokantanın temelinde yatan prensipler, kalitenin öncelikli tutulmasını sağlamıştır. Gelik Lokantası işletmede ve yemeklerinde özgün bir kimlik oluşturarak Türk mutfağına çeşitli tatlar katmış ve Türk lokanta kültürünün gelişmesine büyük katkılarda bulunmuştur. Böylece Gelik ismi bir sembol haline dönüşmüştür. Gelik Lokantası elde ettiği başarı ile diğer lokantalara örnek olmuş, birçok insan yetiştirmiştir. Birçok olaya ve ünlü isme misafirlik eden Gelik Lokantası nesilden nesile aktarılan bir tarihi yaşatmaktadır.en_US
dc.description.abstractGelik Restaurant is a well-established and respected restaurant in Istanbul. It has been in existence since 1972. The principles underlying the restaurant, which was established by the partnership of Ömer Duruk, a famous businessman, and İbrahim Denizer, who works in the cooking profession, have ensured that quality is prioritized. Gelik Restaurant has created a unique identity in its business and food, adding various flavors to Turkish cuisine and contributing greatly to the development of Turkish restaurant culture. Thus, the name Gelik has become a symbol. Gelik Restaurant has been an inspirational example for other restaurants with the success it has achieved and raised many people. Gelik Restaurant, which has hosted numerous events and famous names, keeps alive a history that is passed down from generation to generation.en_US
