dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu makale, 90’lı yıllarda çevirmenlik hayatına başlayan, Rubailer gibi eserlerin de dahil olduğu 50’yi aşkın eseri çeviren şair, çevirmen ve yazar Kenan Sarıalioğlu’nun çevirmenlik öncesi hayatını, felsefe eğitimini ve bunun şiir anlayışına etkisini, Türkçe çeviri geleneğindeki yerini, yaptığı katkıları, şair kimliğini, belirli kurumlarda yaptığı çalışmaları, Türk çevirisi hakkındaki görüşlerini ve çevirmenliğin geleceğine dair öngörülerini aktarmayı ve incelemeyi hedeflemektedir. Çalışma kapsamında çeşitli yazılı kaynaklar kullanılarak ve Kenan Sarıalioğlu ile yapılan röportajdan yararlanılarak kendisinin şair, yazar ve çevirmen kimliği hususunda detaylı bir inceleme yapılacaktır.
dc.description.abstractThis article is about the life of poet, translator, and writer Kenan Sarıalioğlu, who started his career as a translator in the 90s and translated more than 50 works, including works such as Rubailer, his pre-translation life, his philosophy education and its impact on his understanding of poetry, His place in Turkish translation tradition, his contributions, his identity as a poet, his translations in various well-known publishers, his views on Turkish translation, and his predictions about the future of translation. Within the scope of this study, a detailed examination of Kenan Sarıalioğlu's identity as a philosopher, poet, writer and translator will be made by using various written sources and the interview with him.
