| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışma Türkiye sanatına katkılar sunmuş Mehmet Güleryüz’ün hayatını ve Türkiye sanatına olan katkılarını incelemektedir. 1938 yılında İstanbul’da doğan Mehmet Güleryüz, sanat hayatına resim ve tiyatro alanında yön vermiş önemli bir sanatçıdır. Resimlerinde dışavurumculuğu benimseyen sanatçı, Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Akademisi’nde eğitim almıştır, Paris ve Amerika’da da sanat çalışmalarını sürdürmüştür. Hem eleştirel üslubuyla hem de eğitimci kişiliğiyle Türkiye sanatına katkılar sunan Güleryüz, 2024 yılında hayatını kaybetmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the life and contributions of Mehmet Güleryüz who is an influential figure in Turkish art. Mehmet Güleryüz, who was born in 1938, was an important artisg who shaped his artistic career in painting and theater. Embracing expressionism in his paintings, he studied at the Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts and continued his works in Paris and the United States. Through his critical style and role as an educator, Güleryüz made significant contributions to Turkish art before passing away in 2024. | |
