| dc.description | The History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards. | |

| dc.description.abstract | Anadolu rock müzik türü, Batı müziğindeki gelişmeler sayesinde 1960’lı yıllarda Türkiye’de etkisini göstermeye başladı. 1950’li yıllardaki pop müziğin, Batı enstrümanları ile birlikte harmanlanması ile Anadolu rock türü doğdu. Mavi Işıklar, Altın Mikrofon yarışması ile ün kazanan ve ilk Anadolu rock grubu olarak türün öncüsü kabul edildi. Mavi Işıklar, hem yurtiçinde hem de yurtdışında verdikleri konserlerle önemli bir yer edindi. 2010’larda tekrardan konser vermeye ve şovlara çıkmaya başlayan grup yeniden aktif bir döneme girdi. Bu dönem 2019’a, Nejat Toksoy’un ölümüne, kadar devam etti. Mavi ışıklar grubu 2024 yılı itibariyle 60 yıl boyunca Türkiye’nin her yerinde dinlenmeye ve Anadolu Rock’ı temsil etmeye devam etti. Mavi Işıklar grubunun Türk müziğine katkıları Anadolu rock türünün gelişmesinde ve tanınmasında önemli bir rol oynadı. | |
| dc.description.abstract | The Anatolian rock music genre began to make its mark in Turkey in the 1960s, thanks to developments in Western music. The Anatolian rock genre emerged by blending the pop music of the 1950s with Western instruments. Mavi Işıklar, which gained fame through the Altın Mikrafon contest, is recognized as the first Anatolian rock band and a pioneer of the genre. Mavi Işıklar secured an important place by performing concerts both domestically and internationally. Group started to perform at concerts and shows at the beginning of 2010’s and the group entered an active period again. By 2024, Mavi Işıklar had been listened all over Turkey and they represented the Anadolu Rock genre. and The contributions of the Mavi Işıklar group to Turkish music played an important role in the development and recognition of the Anatolian rock genre. | |
