dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu çalışma Türkiye’de bilim kurgunun gelişimini ve etkilerini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bilim kurgunun temel yapısı incelendikten sonra Osmanlı zamanında Türkiye’ye gelişi incelenmektedir. Ayrıca, Türkçe’ye çevrilen yabancı eserler ve Türk yazarlar tarafından yazılan bilim kurgu eserler incelenecektir. Çalışmada bilim kurgunun Türkiye’deki etkileri ve yeri, aynı zamanda 1970’li yıllarda çıkan ilk Türk bilim kurgu dergisi olan Antares konu edilmiştir. Antares dergisinin kurucusu olan Sezar Erkin Ergin’in verdiği bilgilerden yararlanılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn this study, the aim is revealing the effects and development of science fiction in Turkey. After reviewing science fiction's structure as a literary genre, the advent of science fiction to Turkey in the Ottoman period will be reviewed. Furthermore, foreign science fiction books translated into Turkish and science fiction books written by Turkish writers will be reviewed. The effects and the place of science fiction in Turkey and the first Turkish science fiction magazine published in the 1970s are the subjects of this research. The information provided by Sezar Erkin Ergin, the founder of Antares magazine, was used.en_US
