Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi tarihçesi, değişimi ve gelişimi

Abstract

İzmir'de bulunan ve hâlâ aktif olarak eğitim vermeye devam eden Ege Üniversitesi'nin Tıp Fakültesi, İzmir'in ve bölgenin ilk, Türkiye'nin ise kurulan üçüncü Tıp Fakültesi olma unvanına sahiptir. Bünyesinde bulunmuş olan Yüksek Hemşirelik Okulu ve Sağlık Koleji ile Ege Bölgesi'nde ve Türkiye'de sağlık hizmeti ihtiyaçlarını karşılayan fakülte, Türk tıbbında birçok alanda ilklere imza atmıştır. 1955 yılında 2 profesör ve 2 doçent öğretim üyesi ile öğretime açılan Tıp Fakültesinde 2019 yılı itibariyle 352 profesör, 63 doçent ve 25 doktor öğretim üyesi olmak üzere toplam 440 akademik personel bulunmaktadır. Bulunduğu bölgenin adını almış olan, bölgenin en köklü tıp eğitimini veren Ege Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi tarihçesi, gelişimi, değişimi ve bu fakültenin Türkiye'ye getirdikleri araştırmanın konusu olacaktır. Ege University Faculty of Medicine, located in İzmir and still actively continuing to provide education, has the title of being the first Faculty of Medicine established in İzmir and the Aegean Region, and third in Turkey. While providing health care in the region where it was established along with the School of Nursing and Health College, the faculty has pioneered many firsts in Turkish medicine. Having been opened to its first academic year with 2 professors and 2 associate professors in 1955, the Faculty of Medicine now has 352 professors, 63 associate professors and 25 assistant professors, in total, the academic staff of 440. Being named after its region and giving the most established medical education in the region, Ege University Faculty of Medicine is going to be the subject of the research with its history, development, changes and what it has provided to Turkish medicine.
