Depremlerle sarsılan bir ilçe: Erbaa

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, 1939-1943 tarihleri arasında Kuzey Anadolu fay hattında gerçekleşen depremlerin Erbaa üzerindeki etkileri araştırıldı. Araştırma kapsamında öncelikle Kuzey Anadolu fay hattının genel yapısı ve Erbaa’nın coğrafi yapısı ile ilgili bilgiler edinildi. Üst üste gelen depremlerin yol açtığı kayıplar ve ilçe üzerindeki etkisi incelendi. Bu depremler sonrası halkın durumu, yapılan yardımlar ve Erbaa’nın yeniden yapılanma süreci araştırıldı. Cumhuriyet gazetesi arşivindeki haberler başta olmak üzere, yazılı ve sözlü kaynaklardan yararlanılarak araştırma tamamlandı.

This article examines the effects of earthquakes on Erbaa that happened between 1939 and 1943.In the scope of this research, the North Anatolian fault line and the geographical structure of Erbaa were analyzed. The effect of these earthquakes on the city and the losses were examined. The situation of the people on Erbaa after the earthquakes and the humanitarian helps for them were analyzed. After these earthquakes, the city was moved rebuilt and the process of the structure is examined. This research was completed by benefiting from both audio and written sources, especially the ones from the archive of Cumhuriyet newspaper.
