dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBilkent Üniversitesi Kütüphanesi'nin Sanat Koleksiyonu, öğrencilere, akademisyenlere ve sanat tutkunlarına geniş bir kaynak sağlamaktadır. Bu koleksiyon, Türkiye'nin sanat tarihini belgeleme, koruma ve gelecek kuşaklara aktarma amacı güden özel arşivleri içermesi bakımından önemli bir konumda bulunmaktadır. Türk Plastik Sanatlar Arşivi, Türk sanatının tarihsel evrimini takip eden, sanatçıların biyografilerini içeren, sergi davetiyeleri, gazete kesimleri, makaleler, orijinal sanat eserleri ve bir dizi başka belgeyi içeren geniş kapsamlı bir koleksiyondur. Sanat Koleksiyonu, sadece bir bilgi kaynağı olarak hizmet vermekle kalmaz, aynı zamanda öğrencilere ve araştırmacılara farklı sanat disiplinlerini keşfetme, sanat tarihini anlama ve kendi yaratıcılıklarını geliştirme fırsatı sunar. Türk Plastik Sanatlar Arşivi'nin içeriği, Türk sanatının çeşitli alanlarına dair geniş bir perspektif sunar ve sanatseverlere Türkiye'nin zengin sanat mirasını daha yakından tanıma şansı verir.
dc.description.abstractThe Art Collection of Bilkent University Library provides a comprehensive resource for students, academics, and art enthusiasts. This collection holds a significant position in documenting, preserving, and transferring the art history of Turkey through its inclusion of specialized archives with the aim of serving future generations. The Turkish Plastic Arts Archive is an extensive collection that traces the historical evolution of Turkish art, containing biographies of artists, exhibition invitations, newspaper clippings, articles, original artworks, and various other documents. The Art Collection not only serves as an information source but also offers students and researchers the opportunity to explore different art disciplines, understand art history, and develop their own creativity. The content of the Turkish Plastic Arts Archive provides a broad perspective on various aspects of Turkish art and allows art enthusiasts to gain a closer understanding of Turkey's rich artistic heritage.
