dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractEdirne Sultan II. Bayezid Külliyesi Darüşşifası, uyguladığı tedavi yöntemleri ve uzun yıllar varlığını sürdürmesi bakımından Osmanlı müesseseleri arasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. 1488’de kurulan Darüşşifanın, 1997’de sağlık müzesine dönüştürülme sürecinin yanı sıra bünyesinde bulundurduğu eserler bakımından da Türk müzecilik tarihi açısından kayda değer bir yere sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Ayrıca müze Türkiye'deki diğer darüşşifa müzelerine kıyasla Avrupa Müze Ödülü gibi ödüllere layık görülerek tanınırlığını ve önemini uluslararası boyuta taşımıştır. Bu araştırma; Edirne Sultan II. Bayezid Külliyesi Sağlık Müzesi'nin kuruluşundan günümüze kadar olan tarihi sürece, Türkiye'deki diğer sağlık müzelerinden ayrılan temel farklarına ve nihayetinde Türk müzecilik tarihindeki konumuna ışık tutmayı amaçlamaktadır.
dc.description.abstractEdirne Sultan II. Bayezid Complex Health Museum, with its treatment methods and long-lasting existence, holds an important place among the Ottoman institutions. Established in 1488, the Dar Al-Shifa has gained significant recognition in Turkish museum history due to its conversion into a health museum in 1997 and the valuable artifacts it houses. Furthermore, the museum has gained recognition and international importance by receiving awards such as the European Museum Award, distinguishing it from other Dar Al-Shifa museums in Turkey. This research aims to shed light on the historical process of the establishment of the Edirne Sultan II. Bayezid Complex Health Museum, its distinguishing features from other health museums in Turkey, and ultimately its position in Turkish museum history.
