dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, Boşnak Göçmeni basketbol antrenörü ve eski Basketbol oyuncusu Adis Bećiragić’in yaşamını merkeze alarak Bosna Savaşı’nın ve göçün hayatını nasıl etkilediğini kapsamlı ve detaylı bir şekilde incelemektedir. Araştırma, Bosna Savaşı öncesi dönemde Bosna’daki siyasi, kültürel ve günlük hayattan bahsedip Adis Bećiragić’in savaş öncesi basketbol kariyerini açıklamıştır. Aynı zamanda Bosna savaşı döneminde Bosna’daki durumdan bahsedilip Adis Bećiragić’in gözünden Bosna Savaşı irdelenmiştir. Ek olarak, Bosna savaşından sonra Bosna’nın sosyal, ekonomik ve politik durumuna değinilmiş olup Adis Bećiragić’in Türkiye’deki oyunculuk kariyeri, antrenörlük kariyeri ve adaptasyon süreci merkeze alınarak incelenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractThis study extensively examines the life of Adis Bećiragić, a Bosnian immigrant basketball coach and former player, focusing on how the Bosnian War and migration affected his life in detail. The research discusses the political, cultural, and daily life in Bosnia before the war and explains Adis Bećiragić's basketball career before the war. It also analyzes the Bosnian War through the perspective of Adis Bećiragić by discussing the situation in Bosnia during the war. Furthermore, it addresses Bosnia's social, economic, and political situation after the war and centers on Adis Bećiragić's basketball career and coaching experiences in Turkey, as well as his adaptation process.
