Geçmişten günümüze Türkiye Özürlüler Spor Federasyonu ve toplumdaki yeri

Türkiye Özürlüler Spor Federasyonu, özürlülerin spor alanına katılımlarını destekleyen bir yapı olarak ortaya çıkan ve 2000 senesinde bedensel engelliler, görme engelliler, işitme engelliler ve zihinsel engelliler olmak üzere dörde ayrılarak engelli bireylerin spor ile hayatlarına pozitif bir şekilde yön vermelerini hedefleyen bir kuruluştur. Federasyonların çalışmaları, teşviği ve desteği sayesinde, günümüzde engelli bireyler toplumda aktif olarak rol alabiliyor ve geleceğe çok daha motive şekilde bakabiliyorlar. Bu proje; Türkiye Özürlüler Spor Federasyonunun tarihçesi, kuruluşu ve gelişim aşamaları, Türkiye'de engelli sporlarının ve sporcuların gelişimi, federasyonun dünden bugüne toplum ve basındaki yeri hakkında bilgi vermeyi amaçlamaktadır.

The Federation of the Disabled of Turkey is an institution that emerged as a structure supporting the participation of disabled people in the sport field and aims to help individuals with disabilities to direct their lives in a positive way with the help of sports by splitting into four separate federation for physically handicapped, visually impaired, hearing impaired and mentally disabled athletes.By means of the federations’ works, encouragement, and support, today people with disabilities can take an active role in society and look to the future in a much more motivated way. In this project; the aim is giving information about the history, the establishment, and the stages of development of The Federation of the Disabled of Turkey, improvements of the disabled sports and the disabled athletes in Turkey, and the place of the federation from the past to the present in society and the media..
