dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractBu araştırma kapsamında, Demokrat Parti 10. Dönem Ankara Milletvekili Aliye Temuçin’in, Türkiye’de kadın, çocuk ve öğretmen haklarına sağladığı katkılar araştırılacaktır. Dönemin sayılı kadın milletvekillerinden olan Aliye Temuçin’in aktif siyaset sahnesinde dikkat çektiği konular, dönemin siyasal ve sosyal bağlamı ve Aliye Temuçin’in öğretmen kimliği de göz önünde bulundurularak değerlendirilecektir. Ayrıca siyasi kimliğinin, Temuçin’in özel hayatındaki etkilerinin gözlemlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır.
dc.description.abstractWithin the scope of this research, the contributions of Aliye Temuçin, the Democrat Party's 10th Term Member of Parliament for Ankara, to women's, children's, and teachers' rights in Turkey will be examined. The issues that Aliye Temuçin, one of the few female parliamentarians of the period, brought attention to on the active political stage will be evaluated, taking into account the political and social context of the time as well as Temuçin's identity as a teacher. Additionally, the study aims to observe the effects of her political identity on her personal life.
