Türkiye’de güreş ve milli güreşçimiz Ahmet Ak

Spor denilince ilk akla gelen branşlardan olan güreş, özellikle Türk toplumu ve kültürü nezdinde önemli bir yere sahiptir. Genel tarih kabulüne göre Türklerin atası olan Hunlardan günümüze güreş, Türk milleti için her zaman ayrı bir yere sahip olmuş, düğünlerin, eğlencelerin, toyların vs. hep bir parçası olmuştur. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kurucusu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’ün spora özellikle de Türklerin ata sporu olan güreşe verdiği önem hep ön planda olmuştur. Güreşin kültürel yönlerinin dışında toplum nezdinde, ekonomik, siyasi ve sosyal açıdan da etkileri bulunmaktadır.
