TCG Tınaztepe personeli Ahmet Bircihan'ın gözünden Kıbrıs barış harekatı

Abstract

Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtı Türk tarihi için oldukça önemli bir olaydır. Kıbrıs adasında Rumlar ve Türkler arasında uzun yıllar süregelen anlaşmazlıklar adanın iç huzurunu olumsuz şekilde etkiledi. Bu anlaşmazlıklar bir noktadan sonra adadaki Türkleri Rum çeteleriyle karşı karşıya getirdi. Yaşanan olumsuzlukların ve Türklere karşı olan baskıların artması neticesinde Türkiye 20 Temmuz 1974 tarihinde adaya kapsamlı bir askerî harekât düzenledi. Bu harekât Kıbrıs barış Harekâtı olarak adlandırıldı. Birçok donanma gücü bu harekâtta görev aldı. Ahmet Bircihan’da görevli olduğu TCG Tınaztepe gemisiyle birlikte birinci ve ikinci harekât boyunca harekât alanında bulundu. Bu araştırmada Ahmet Bircihan ile bizzat görüşme gerçekleştirilerek kendisinin hayatıyla birlikte Kıbrıs Barış Harekâtının TCG Tınaztepe gemisi ve mürettebatı için nasıl geçtiği incelenmiştir. Harekâtın genel çıkarımlarını daha iyi değerlendirmek için Günümüz Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti Cumhurbaşkanı Ersin tatar ile görüşülmüştür. Harekâtı daha iyi anlamak için harekât hakkında yazılan makale, kitap ve dönemin gazeteleri gibi kaynaklardan bilgi toplanmıştır.

The Cyprus Peace Operation was a very important event for Turkish history. The conflicts that have been going on for many years between the Greeks and the Turks on the island of Cyprus have negatively affected the internal peace of the island. At some point, these disputes brought the Turks on the island face to face with the Greek gangs. As a result of the negativities and the increasing pressure against the Turks, Turkey launched a comprehensive military operation on the island on July 20, 1974. This operation was called the Cyprus Peace Operation. Many naval forces took part in this operation. Ahmet Bircihan was in the operation area during the first and second operations with the TCG Tınaztepe ship on which he was assigned. In this research, Ahmet Bircihan was personally interviewed and his life, as well as how the Cyprus Peace Operation went for the TCG Tınaztepe ship and its crew, were examined. In order to better evaluate the general implications of the operation, a meeting was held with the current President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar. In order to better understand the operation, information was collected from sources such as articles written about the operation, books and newspapers of the period.
