1950'lerden 2000'lere Faroz Mahallesi

Bu çalışmanın amacı Trabzon’un Faroz, bugünkü adıyla Yalı Mahallesi’nin 1950’lerden 2000’lere sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik yaşantısı hakkında bilgi vermektir. Faroz’un bu çalışma için seçilmesinin nedeni, mahallenin geçmişten günümüze kendine özgü motif ve hikayelere sahip olması, Trabzon içinde ve ulusal alanda adını duyurmuş bir mahalle olması ve bu balıkçı mahallesinin yıllar içinde özellikle Karadeniz Sahil Yolu Projesi’nin de etkisiyle önemli bir değişim süreci yaşamasıdır. çalışmanın başlangıcında projenin kapsamının daha net açıklanabilmesi için öncelikle mahallenin bugünkü haline gelmesinde etkili olan üç dönem (Komnenos İmparatorluğu, Osmanlı Dönemi ve Cumhuriyet Dönemi) incelenmiştir. Sonrasında genel olarak mahalle hakkında bilgi verilmiş, önemli değişimler ele alınmış, ekonomik ve sosyal yaşam, eğitim, mimari yapı, düzenlenen törenler ve son olarak da Faroz’da kadınların yaşantısı incelenmiştir. çalışma yapılırken Trabzon ve Faroz hakkında kitap, dergi, tez ve gazete başta olmak üzere çeşitli yazılı kaynaklardan yararlanılmış ve mahalle sakinleri ile röportajlar yapılmıştır.

The purpose of this article is to give information, for the time interval from 1950 to 2000, about the social, cultural and economical experiences of the neighborhood Faroz, which is latterly named as Yalı and a quarter in Trabzon. Faroz is chosen for this study, for the reasons that it has unique motives and stories to tell from past to present, it is a renowned quarter both in Trabzon and in Turkey, and finally the change that fishing quarter Faroz went through especially after the Black Sea Coastal Highway Project is significantly notable. In the beginning of the study, in order to clarify the actual scope of the project, three important eras (The Era of the Empire of Komnenos, The Era of Ottoman Empire and The Era of Turkish Republic) that lead to Faroz’s current state of affairs investigated. Thereafter, a general information about the neighborhood was given, the important changes were reviewed, the economic and social life, education, architecture, rituals and lastly the life of women in Faroz were analyzed. During the research, various written sources, particularly books, journals, magazines and newspapers, about Trabzon and Faroz were used and several interviews with the residents of neighborhood were made.
