Bodrum’un ve Gümüşlük’ün turizm etkisi ile değişimi

Abstract

1980’li yıllar Türkiye’de turizmin gelişmesinde önemli bir rol oynadı. Gelişimin en görülebir olduğu bu yıllarda ülke genelinde ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel anlamda belirgin değişimler oldu. Özellikle kıyı bölgeleri bu değişimin en çok görüldüğü bölgelerdir. Bodrum yarımadası da bu değişimin somut örneklerinden biridir. Turizmin gelişmesiyle birlikte Bodrum’un nüfusu, ekonomisi ve toplum yapısı ani değişimlere uğradı. Gümüşlük de Bodrum’un bir alt yerleşkesi olarak benzer değişimler geçirdi. Bu araştırmada, eski Gümüşlük Belediye Başkanı Mehmet Ülküm’ün deneyimlerinden yararlanarak Bodrum ve Gümüşlük’ün turizmle değişimi ile turizmin yarattığı sorunlar ele alındı.

The 1980s played an important role in the development of tourism in Turkey. During these years when development was most visible, there were significant changes in economic, social and cultural aspects throughout the country. Especially the coastal areas are the regions where this change was most visible. The Bodrum peninsula is one of the concrete examples of this change. With the development of tourism; Bodrum's population, economy and social structure underwent sudden changes. Gümüşlük, as a sub-province of Bodrum, also underwent similar changes. In this research, the transformation of Bodrum and Gümüşlük with tourism and the problems created by tourism were discussed by benefiting from the experiences of former Gümüşlük Mayor Mehmet Ülküm.
