Sıralardan cepheye: Bir Erenköy mücahiti Sabri Işın

Kıbrıs, konumu nedeniyle birçok ülkenin hâkimiyet kurmak istediği bir ada olmuştur. 1571 yılından itibaren bu topraklarda beraber yaşayan Rum ve Türk halkları arasında zamanla çatışmalar ve anlaşmazlıklar giderek artmış ve özellikle İngiltere'nin Kıbrıs topraklarına girmesinden sonra Kıbrıs hakkındaki uluslararası sorun büyüyerek devam etmiştir. Yunanistan’ın enosis talepleri ve Kıbrıs Türklerinin soykırıma uğraması sonucunda Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Kıbrıs’a bir barış harekâtı düzenlemiştir ve Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti kurulmuştur. Kıbrıs Türklerinin bu bağımsızlık mücadelesinde Erenköy Direnişi büyük bir önem taşımaktadır. Sabri Işın’da bu önemli direnişin başlangıcında rol almış bir mücahittir. Bu araştırmada, Sabri Işın’ın hayatına yakından tanık olmuş insanlarla röportajlar yapılarak Kıbrıs’taki bu önemli direniş Sabri Işın gözünden anlatılmıştır.

Cyprus has always been a country that many others wanted to establish sovereignty over it for its location. Starting from 1571, the disputes and conflicts between Greek and Turkish communities living together on these lands increased with time and this international issue further grew with the addition of British armies’ intrusion. With the enosis requests from Greece and the genocide of Cyprus Turks, Turkey organized a peace operation to Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was founded. The Erenköy Resistance is of great importance to the Cyprus Turks’ fight for independence. Sabri Işın is a mujahid that had a role in the start of this important resistance. In this research, the Erenköy Resistance is explained through the eyes of Sabri Işın, based on the interviews made with people who have closely witnessed his life.
