dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractYazılı ve sözlü basının toplum ve iş dünyası üzerindeki etkisinin artmasıyla birlikte, zorlu bir süreç olan medya takibi, medyada kendisi, rakipleri ve faaliyet alanları hakkında yayınlanan tüm bilgilere ulaşmak isteyen kişi ve kurumların bu ihtiyacını karşılamak için bir zorunluluk haline gelmiştir. 1940 yılında kurulan Interpress, Türkiye'de ilk medya takip şirketi oldu. Bu çalışmada, Interpress'in kuruluşu, gelişimi ve günümüzdeki mevcut işleyişi, Interpress arşivleri, sözlü tarih, dönem gazeteleri ve dergileri kullanılarak araştırılmıştır.en_US
dc.description.abstractWith the rise of the impact of written and oral press on society and business sector, press monitoring, being a challenging process, have become a necessity to meet the needs of the people and institutions seeking to gain access to all the information they desire in the media regarding themselves, their competitors and fields of operation. Founded in 1940, Interpress is the very first media monitoring company started in Turkey. In this study, the establishment, progress, and mechanism of Interpress have been researched by using the archives of Interpress, oral history, and the newspapers and journals of the period.en_US
