Hikmet Barutçugil's contributions to the revival of the Turkish Art of Marbling (Ebru sanatı) 1960s-2000s)

Abstract

The Turkish art of marbling (Ebru Sanatı) is a traditional form of art practiced in Turkey. As with how art is a reflection of society, culture and history, marbling has its own contributions to the Turkish culture that is seen today. Artists tend to have a deeper insight and understanding of what their work means and how it is valuable. Therefore, this research is centered around one experienced marbling artist, Hikmet Barutçugil, and especially on his views and role in the revival of marbling in Turkey from the 1960s and onwards. Ebru Sanatı Türkiye'de uygulanan geleneksel bir sanatdır. Sanatın toplumun, kültürün ve tari hin bir yansıması olduğu gibi, Ebru'nun da Türk kültürüne katkısı vardır. Sanatçılar, çalışma larının ne anlama geldiği ve değerli olduğu konusunda daha derin bir içgörü ve anlayışa sahip olma eğilimindedir. Bu nedenle, bu araştırma deneyimli bir Ebru Sanatçısı Hikmet Barutçugil ve özellikle 1960'lardan sonra Türkiye'de Ebru'nun canlanmasındaki rolü ve görüşü üzerine odaklanmıştır.
