dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.

dc.description.abstractTeknik bir spor haline kademe kademe gelen boks sporunun, ülkemizde nasıl geliştiği adına özgün bir hikâyesi vardır. Boks sporunun, ülkemizde nasıl geliştiğinin bir örneği olması açısından Trabzon’un Akçaabat ilçesinde boks faaliyetlerini ilerleten, boksun ülke çapında da sıfırdan nasıl geliştiğinin bir örneği olan Davut Çınarlar’ın hikayesi bu makale kapsamında kılavuzluk yapmaktadır. Araştırma sırasında Davut Çınarlar ile röportaj yapılmış, sonrasında da Davut Çınarlar’ın antrenörü Hasan Değirmenci ile de röportaj yapılarak bu iki ismin tecrübelerinden faydalanılmış, Trabzon ve hatta ülkemiz adına boks sporunun gelişimine ışık tutulmuştur.
dc.description.abstractBoxing, which has gradually become a technical sport, has a unique story of how it developed in our country. As an example of how boxing has developed in our country, this article is guided by the story of Davut Çınarlar, who is an example of how boxing has developed from scratch in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon. During the research, Davut Çınarlar was interviewed, and then Davut Çınarlar's coach Hasan Değirmenci was also interviewed to benefit from the experiences of these two names and to shed light on the development of boxing on behalf of Trabzon and even our country.
