dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractBu makale için ana hedefimiz Ankara’da bulunan otelleri genel olarak incelemek amacıyla Hamamönü’nde bulunan Otel Sema’nın tarihsel açıdan değişimlerini incelemek. İhtiyacımız olan bilgilere erişmek için Otel Sema’nın kurucusunun oğlu ile ve otelin resepsiyonisti Ayhan Tosun ile röportaj yapmaya karar verdik. Ayrıca otelin yakınlarındaki esnaflarla da konuştuk. Otelde intihar etmiş Yetik Ozan isminde bir şair hakkında makaleler bulduk ve otelin eski ve yeni fotoğraflarını bulduk. Aynı zamanda Ankara otelleri hakkında genel bilgi edinmek için Selim İleri’nin köşe yazısından faydalandık.en_US
dc.description.abstractOur main goal for this article is to examine historical changes of Hotel Sema in Hamamönü to help us evaluating hotels of Ankara in general. To reach required information, we decided to interview with son of the founder of Hotel Sema and the current manager of the hotel; Celalettin Emre and the receptionist of hotel, Ayhan Tosun. We also interviewed with some of the tradesman near the hotel. We found articles about a poet called Yetik Ozan who committed suicide in the hotel and hotel’s both old and new pictures. We also used an article of Selim İleri, from Bilkent University Library to get knowledge about hotels in Ankara.en_US
