dc.descriptionThe History of Turkey course (HIST200) is a requirement for all Bilkent undergraduates. It is designed to encourage students to work in groups on projects concerning any topic of their choice that relates to the history of Turkey. It is designed as an interactive course with an emphasis on research and the objective of investigating events, chronologically short historical periods, as well as historic representations. Students from all departments prepare and present final projects for examination by a committee, with 10 projects chosen to receive awards.en_US

dc.description.abstractRasim Şahinkaya 50 yılı aşkın eğitim hayatı boyunca köylerde, kasabalarda ve büyük şehirlerde binlerce öğrenci yetiştirdi. 1971-1980 yılları arasında Muslubey, Yazıbaşı ve Avdancık köylerinde öğretmenlik yapan Şahinkaya aynı zamanda bu köylerde asfalt yol yapımı ve su getirilmesi gibi önemli çalışmalara da ön ayak oldu. Türkiye’nin birçok farklı yerinde öğretmenlik yaptıktan sonra oğlu Serhan Şahinkaya ile beraber 1998’de Bursa Yıldırım’da danışmanlık bürosu açarak özel sektöre ilk adımını attı. Eğitim alanında özel sektörde büyümesinin ardından 2002’de Şahinkaya Dershanesi’ni kurdu ve 2007’de daha fazla öğrenciyle çalışabilmek adına Şahinkaya Eğitim Kurumları’nı kurdu. Rasim Şahinkaya yönetici olarak çalışanlarının ihtiyaçlarını her daim ticari kaygılarının önüne koydu. Böylelikle girdiği her işte insani duyarlılığı ve azmiyle başarıyı yakaladı.en_US
dc.description.abstractRasim Sahinkaya has educated thousands of students in villages, towns and big cities throughout his education life of more than 50 years. Sahinkaya, who taught in the villages of Muslubey, Yazibasi and Avdancik between 1971-1980, also pioneered important works such as asphalt road construction and water supply in these villages. After teaching in many different parts of Turkey, he took his first step into the private sector by opening a consultancy office in Bursa Yildirim with his son Serhan Sahinkaya in 1998. After growing in the private sector in the field of education, he founded Sahinkaya Dershanesi in 2002 and established Sahinkaya Educational Institutions in 2007 in order to work with more students. As a manager, Rasim Sahinkaya always put the needs of his employees before his commercial concerns. In this way, he achieved success in every job he entered with his human sensitivity and determination.en_US
