Radios, a communication tool, has had a significant influence by fostering unity among diverse groups throughout history, and is widely used across Turkey. Voice of Turkey (VOT), a notable instrument as a radio, was established under the root of TRT. VOT is still broadcasting today, making programs that resonate with Turks both in Turkey and abroad since its establishment. Similar to other organisations in other nations, VOT endeavours to broadcast programs that promote Turkish culture and language. In addition to serving as a means of cultural enhancing tool, these initiatives also play an important role in terms of the political issues experienced by Turkey through its diplomatic relations. This paper examines the functioning of the radio, its activities and initiatives towards its target audience as well as its place in Turkey’s diplomatic relations. Voice of Turkey, continues to serve to fulfil its mission, which is to promote Turkish culture and language through broadcasting.
