ODTÜ Geliştirme Vakfı Okulları’nın Türk eğitim tarihindeki yeri ve önemi

Abstract

Bu rapor, ODTÜ Geliştirme Vakfı Okulları’nın (ODTÜ GVO) kuruluş süreci, eğitim anlayışı ve Türkiye eğitim tarihindeki yeri üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Çalışmada, okulun neden ve nasıl kurulduğu, benimsediği eğitim modeli, örgütsel yapısı ve toplumsal misyonu incelenerek ODTÜ GVO’nun devlet ve özel okul ayrımı dışında, özgün bir eğitim kurumu olarak nasıl konumlandığı tartışılmaktadır. Türkiye’deki özel okulların tarihsel gelişimi ve genel özellikleri ise bu analize teorik bir zemin sunmak amacıyla ele alınmaktadır. Bu çerçevede rapor, ODTÜ GVO’nun sadece alternatif bir okul modeli değil, aynı zamanda belli bir toplumsal vizyonun ve üniversite destekli bir eğitimin taşıyıcısı olarak eğitim sistemindeki yerini anlamayı hedeflemektedir

This report focuses on the foundation process, educational philosophy, and historical significance of the METU Development Foundation Schools (ODTÜ GVO) within the context of Turkish education. Rather than analyzing it as a typical private school, the study explores how and why ODTÜ GVO was established, the model of education it adopted, its institutional structure, and its broader social mission. The historical background and characteristics of private education in Turkey are included to provide a conceptual framework, not as the primary focus. Within this context, the report aims to understand ODTÜ GVO as a unique educational institution shaped by a university-supported vision and a distinctive role in Turkey's education system.
